Creating a Functional Package for a Real Product

This project we had to design a functional package that could hold a real product using paperboard. I had to come up with my own brand and design a package that could safely hold matches. To create this I came up with the package design using Adobe Illustrator and after some trial and error came up with measurements for the dimensions of both the primary and secondary packaging that secures the matches. After this step, I then created a brand and a design for the package with the added bonus of throwing a custom QR code on the back. Using an Acuity series flatbed UV printer from Fujifilm I added a clear varnish to the top of the match in the logo and on the striking zones on the side to give the package some texture and to make it pop more. Then, once it was done printing it was cut out using a Kongsberg cutting table from Esko and was assembled.
